Developing new static feeds
RSS feeds are currently being created in real time on
hub.hackerpublicradio.org
. The plan has always been to make all feeds static, generated by thesite-generator
script in thehpr_generator
repository.Changing RSS feeds is a dangerous process in that feed readers, podcatchers and so on can be triggered by what appear like insignificant changes, making them download files that have already been downloaded, even though they are the not different.
Work is ongoing to produce new (static) feeds, but they will need extensive testing before they can be released to the world at large.
To do this we will need testers, so it would be appreciated if we could call upon volunteers to assist with this process.
