DOS.

DOS is a general acronym for "Disk Operating System", though it came to refer to the operating system used in the IBM PC, particularly Microsoft's MS-DOS.

EDIT is a key built-in applet that you can use to edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files, which makes it a key addition to your Emergency Boot Disk.
